Reji Vasanth was born on 5 July 1976 to a Malayali Hindu family in "The City of Lord Ananta", referring to the deity of the Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple located in the city, Thiruvananthapuram, is built on ‘seven hills’ at the southern Indian state of Kerala. Nedumangad, the place where Reji was born is a suburb of the extended
metropolitan region of Trivandrum city. It is located around 20 km to the north-east of Thiruvananthapuram city. It is an important centre for the commercial trade in
spices. His father Vasantha Kumar was an Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer, his mother Jaya Vasanth was a social service activist. He has a younger brother Reni
Vasanth V. J. His father was posted in Madras (Chennai) in the early days they shifted to Chennai where he did his school education at the Anglo Indian School St
Thomas Preparatory School, Santhome adjacent to the renowned St. Thomas Cathedral Basilica, Chennai. When his father got transferred to the Northeast India his family
shifted back to Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and continued his schooling.
During this time Reji was blessed to get Rajan an Indian born American Professor as his Mentor who was staying in his farm house in Nedumangad, isolated from the
materialistic world. They both used to spend hours discussing topics - Social, Economical, Political, Philosophical, Technological, Policies, Law, Current Affairs etc.
They used to debate on each and every topics literally everything under the sun. The ‘Gurukul’ model education was the foundation stone in molding him and thus started
his quest for Knowledge. They had a common friend an Australian born missionary Tom Sutherland, who was in Trivandrum those days working from Nedumangad for the
welfare of the poor and needy they use to spend hours brainstorming.
He was much inspired by the “Concept of Truth” & "Job-oriented Education" of the Gandhian ideologies and the Technological innovations of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
According to Mahatma Gandhi, “By education I mean an all-round drawing out of the best in child and man-body, mind and spirit.” Inspired by the Gandhian ideology of
"Job-oriented Education" he practiced it in his life in his school years, Reji had average grades but was described as a bright and hardworking student who had a
strong desire to learn. He literally practiced “The Truth” in his life and he still believes it as a mighty weapon. He was blessed to get Anad Sasi, as his Mentor, He
was his father’s friend who was a shrewd politician turned News Reporter “a Chanakya”. The Political leaders in Kerala used to take his advice and patronage. Reji used
to spend hours daily with his Mentor who has ignited the quest in him. Over the period of time Reji has molded himself and worked hard with a vision – “Success.”
After completing his Pre Degree education from the Mar Ivanios College in 1993, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of
Kerala in 1997. He has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and an Advance Diploma in Software
Engineering from Aptech Limited. He was a drop out of Bachelor of Technology (Computing) from the Open University, British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada & Master of Arts
in English Literature from the University of Kerala.
The Bangalore days laid the back bone of his Technological innovations. During this time the Technological world was behind Y2K problem. He joined as a Lecturer in Bangalore. He
struggled hard during those days working round the clock to build a strong pillar – a self-study methodology. He mastered dozens of Software during this time. He
became India’s leading Multimedia Lingo Programmer and became one of the Pioneers in Interactive Multimedia and e-learning in India by the year 2000. He was blessed to
get A.R.S. Iyer, Joint Director (Technical) from Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India as his Mentor, who was working in Kolkata those days. He was
his father’s friend. During this time he used to get Telephonic calls on regular intervals from A.R.S. Iyer for trouble shooting Technological issues for Ministry of
Home Affairs (MHA) Governement of India. Initially he faced hard times in trouble shooting the issues then he took it as a challenge and when days/years passed he have
gained mastery in the art of Information Technology trouble shooting. This was the turning point in his Life.
Reji Vasanth started his expedition in business as a startup In 2003 to implement his scientific study Digital India: Mission CD/DVD Authoring India (2003) which has
reference to the Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) and Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR). The TIFAC/DSIR forecasted
"CD-ROMs with storage capacity of 1.6 GB of data have been instrumental in fast information retrieval and access. Use of multimedia for storage of text, graphics,
video, sound etc. has immensely benefited the information storage system.” His scientific study followed the guidelines of Dr. A. P. J Abdul Kalam “India’s Vision
2020” and ‘10-point development agenda’ aimed at making the state of Kerala an economic powerhouse”. In 2003 it was his Mentor Anad Sasi gave him Rs.5000/- and advised
him to prove his identity in this World of business. He bootstrapped the company from a spare room with sheer ambition & due diligence to develop it as one of the
World's Greatest Brands.
He gained knowledge in the world of Medical science from the Government Ayurveda College Thiruvananthapuram from where he started his business endeavor.
He gained experience in the field of Media, ethical Journalism from the Veteran Kerala Development Reporting / Investigative Journalist Elias John who was his Mentor. He
got an opportunity to be part of Elias John fight for - Vizhinjam International Transshipment Deepwater Multipurpose Seaport. He gained knowledge in the world of
International Trade, Shipping & Logistics, Fertilizer & Hydrocarbon from interacting with the experienced Fertilizer & Hydrocarbon professionals in India and abroad.
The Information Age was a boon for a young aspirant like him. Reji has shown much personal interest in acquiring Knowledge as a Research & Development (R&D) expert -
Information & Communication Technology, Maritime, Media, Trade, Hospitality, Industries and Education etc. The knowledge which he gained over the period of time,
ransacking books, searching the Internet, Interacting with the experts in the Industry, travelling the length and breadth of the nation, attending meetings, seminars,
conferences etc has helped him to empower and in shaping his Business Management, Administration, Public Relation, Brand Building, Marketing & Sales strategies with
his Technological skills and the Communication graphical (Presentation) skills.
